No. The Highlands will remain a Foursquare church. We're not leaving the denomination or becoming a different church. Our shared doctrine, pastoral credentialing, district relationships, ministry resources, and connection to the Foursquare family will continue.

For most people, very little about everyday church life will change. Most changes happen behind the scenes in areas such as legal structure, property ownership, administration, and governance.

Our mission, biblical beliefs and Foursquare doctrine, pastors and staff, worship services, ministries and programs, commitment to our community, and relationship with the Foursquare family are not changing.

No. Owning our property and operating through our own local nonprofit corporation does not mean we're leaving Foursquare. Our legal structure is changing, but our relationship with and commitment to the Foursquare family remain.

Under Foursquare's Charter Church structure, the local church operates as part of the larger Foursquare legal organization, with Foursquare holding certain legal and property responsibilities on behalf of the local church.

A Covenant Church remains a Foursquare church but operates through its own local nonprofit corporation and assumes greater responsibility for its legal and property matters. The church maintains its relationship with Foursquare through a Covenant Agreement.

Because this is a significant change in the legal and organizational structure of our church, congregational approval is part of the Charter-to-Covenant transition process. The meeting gives our church family an opportunity to understand the transition, ask questions, and participate in that process.

The Highlands will continue working with Foursquare to complete the Charter-to-Covenant process and establish the necessary local legal structure. The Highlands will own its property, ministry will continue as usual, and we can continue taking the necessary steps to keep our new building development moving forward according to the current timeline.
