Empowering people to do what God has called them to do.
Acts 1:8
“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
The Spirit of The Highlands is the understanding that we are called to spread the Good News of Jesus Christ.
This message is meant for our families, schools, work places, cities and state: the places that are local to us. We are called to share the message through words and deeds, by meeting practical needs that make a difference, as well as giving people opportunities to meet Jesus.
We are also called to go to the world. We seek to have a global perspective and care about those who are beyond our borders. In a world economy, we recognize that Jesus has blessed us with being rich. We steward our resources to influence those around the world and give them opportunities to hear the Gospel and grow in their relationship with Jesus.
As we embrace the Spirit of The Highlands, we ask Jesus what it means for us to pray, give, and go with the Gospel in mind. As Pastor Ken says: “The church is most fully the church when she is deployed out into the world!”
